After spending more or less an entire summer here at GME celebrating the islands and the deep blue sea, it is only fair to dedicate a week to Greece’s mountains and songs about mountains. Today, we are shedding light on the presence of mountains in Greek folk and rebetiko songs. From Michalis Genitsaris to Vaggelis Perpiniadis and from Sotiria Bellou to Stratos Dionysiou, Greece’s national squad of folk singers have included songs about mountains in their repertoire.
Λαϊκά και ρεμπέτικα τραγούδια για βουνά
Έχοντας περάσει εδώ στο GME ένα καλοκαίρι γιορτάζοντας τα ελληνικά νησιά και τη θάλασσα, είναι δίκαιο και έγινε πράξη να αφιερώσουμε μια βδομάδα στα βουνά και στα τραγούδια τους. Σήμερα, φωτίζουμε την παρουσία τους στο λαϊκό και ρεμπέτικο τραγούδι. Από τον Μιχάλη Γενίτσαρη στον Βαγγέλη Περπινιάδη και από τη Σωτηρία Μπέλλου στον Στράτο Διονυσίου, μια λαμπρή ομάδα ερμηνευτών συμπεριέλαβαν τα βουνά στο ρεπερτόριό τους.
