Domna Samiou, who was born in 1928 and died in 2012, was a charismatic and multifaceted personality, a dynamic and highly popular woman who dedicated her life to a quest that is now synonymous with her name: the preservation, dissemination and teaching of Greek traditional music. Today, we shall be listening to ‘I tread the earth gently’, a collection of traditional tunes and songs that is highly representative of the art of Domna Samiou.
