The week that starts today is dedicated to the presence of the Byzantine empire in Greek music and song. We start our week-long journey to Byzantium with modern songs that have lyrics containing references to it – to the days, the galleys and the faces of Byzantium. Nikos Androulakis, Costas Mantzios, Maria Soultatou and Giannis Koutras are just some of the distinctive voices that we shall be listening to.

Η εβδομάδα που ξεκινάει σήμερα είναι αφιερωμένη στην παρουσία του Βυζαντίου στην ελληνική μουσική. Ξεκινάμε το ταξίδι μας με νεότερα τραγούδια που έχουν στιχουργικές αναφορές στη Βυζαντινή Αυτοκρατορία: «Βυζαντινή γαλέρα», «Πρόσωπα βυζαντινά» και οι «μέρες οι βυζαντινές» από τον Νίκο Ανδρουλάκη, τον Κώστα Μάντζιο, τη Μαρία Σουλτάτου και τον Γιάννη Κούτρα, μεταξύ άλλων.
