Ο συγγραφέας Αντώνης Σουρούνης (1942-2016) διαβάζει από το βιβλίο του «Ο χορός των ρόδων», εκδ. Καστανιώτη, 1994. Ο Νούσης, ο Καθηγητής και ο Ρολφ πηγαίνουν με ταξί στη Γιουγκοσλαβία για να παίξουν στο καζίνο. Ο Ότο προσπαθεί να τους ακολουθήσει. Απορρίπτουν το καζίνο και επιστρέφουν στη Βενετία. Τους απαγορεύουν την είσοδο στο καζίνο. Αποτυχημένη και η προσπάθειά τους να φύγουν για τη Νίκαια. Επιστρέφουν στη Φρανκφούρτη. Ο Νούσης συναντά τη Γίτσα, που νωρίτερα είχε επισκεφθεί τον φυλακισμένο Τάκη.
