Γουίλφρεντ  Όουεν

Ήθελε να υμνήσει μια γενιά που γεμάτη πατριωτικό ενθουσιασμό έφευγε για το μέτωπο του Α’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου. Όμως όταν είδε την φρίκη κατάλαβε. Η γραφή του τυλίχτηκε από τις φλόγες των μαχών, κόλλησε στη λάσπη των χαρακωμάτων και κάηκε από τα αέρια . Ο Γουίλφρεντ Όουεν “έπεσε” στο μέτωπο στις 4 Νοεμβρίου του 1918.
