Ο Βοναπάρτης ήθελε να οδηγήσει την Μεγάλη Στρατιά του ως τις άκρες του κόσμου. Ήθελε όμως να έχει και φαγητό για τους στρατιώτες του. Πόσο μακριά, ωστόσο, μπορούσε να πάει ένα φαγητό κατά τον 18ο αιώνα χωρίς να χαλάσει; Τη λύση θα δώσει ένας από τους καλύτερους ζαχαροπλάστες της Γαλλίας: Ο Νικολάς Απέρ. Ο πατέρας της κονσέρβας και της παστερίωσης πέθανε την 1η Ιουνίου 1841. Η ιστορία μιας ανακάλυψης που άλλαξε τον κόσμο.
