Αρτούρο Τοσκανίνι

Στα δεκαεννιά του μπορούσε να διευθύνει από μνήμης την Aida του Verdi, διακρίνοντας κάθε ένα από τα εκατό όργανα της ορχήστρας. Χρόνια αργότερα θα πετάξει έξω από το πρόγραμμα της Σκάλας του Μιλάνου κάθε τι φασιστικό και θα κλείσει την πόρτα στον Χίτλερ στο Φεστιβάλ του Bayereuth . Ο μεγάλος μαέστρος Artuto Toscanini ρίσκαρε την ίδια του τη ζωή αλλά ουδέποτε επέτρεψε στο σκοτάδι να εισβάλει στον λαμπερό κόσμο της Όπερας. Πέθανε στις 16 Ιανουαρίου του 1957.
