Ο Bob Geldof των Boomtown Rats και ο Midge Ure των Ultravox είχαν καλέσει την καλύτερη παρέα της ποπ και ροκ σκηνής της Γηραιάς Αλβιώνας. Μπήκαν στο στούντιο έχοντας στη διάθεσή τους μόλις 24 ώρες προκειμένου να ηχογραφήσουν ένα τραγούδι που θα έγραφε ιστορία: Το “Do they know it’s Christmas”. Ήταν για καλό σκοπό. Όταν κυκλοφόρησε το ημερολόγιο έγραφε 3 Δεκεμβρίου του 1984.
