Φιλίππο Λίπι

Το πιο μεγάλο σκάνδαλο της καθολικής εκκλησίας έτυχε να είναι ταυτοχρόνως και το πιο λαμπερό ζωγραφικό πινέλο της. Και άντε να κάνεις ζάφτι έναν καλόγερο που έδωσε, μεν, όρκο φτώχιας, σιωπής και αγνότητας αλλά ήθελε να ζήσει όλα όσα απλόχερα έδωσε στον άνθρωπο η φύση. Ο μεγάλος ατίθασος, Φρα Φιλίππο Λίππι, πέθανε στις 8 Οκτωβρίου του 1469, είχε προλάβει όμως να μας μάθει να κοιτάμε καλύτερα προς τον ουρανό και κυρίως μας χάρισε το πιο όμορφο κόκκινο του κόσμου.
