Την πρόγνωση ότι το φετινό καλοκαίρι δεν θα έχουμε μεγάλο πρόβλημα με τα κουνούπια στην Κεντρική Μακεδονία έκανε μέσω της “Αίθουσας Σύνταξης” του 102FM της ΕΡΤ3 ο βιολόγος και πρόεδρος της Οικοανάπτυξης Σπύρος Μουρελάτος ο οποίος είναι υπεύθυνος για τη χερσαία καταπολέμηση του φαινομένου στην περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας. Ο ίδιος σημείωσε ότι το πρώτο μέλημα είναι να καταπολεμηθούν τα κουνούπια που μεταφέρουν τον ιό του δυτικού Νείλου καθώς στην Κεντρική Μακεδονία καταγράφεται το 40% των κρουσμάτων στην χώρα ενώ σημαντικό είναι επίσης να καταπολεμηθούν τα κουνούπια που προέρχονται από την Ανατολική Ασία και ενοχλούν και την ημέρα.
