Στους λόγους που οδήγησαν στο να δημιουργηθεί Σύλλογος Ελλήνων Χορτοφάγων στην Ελλάδα, με έδρα τη Θεσσαλονίκη αναφέρθηκε με δηλώσεις της στην “Αίθουσα Σύνταξης” του 102 FM της ΕΡΤ3, η πρώτη πρόεδρος του Συλλόγου, Σουζάνα Ισαακίδου. Όπως υπογράμμισε, πρώτο μέλημα του συλλόγου είναι να αναλάβει ενημερωτικές πρωτοβουλίες για θέματα υγείας, ηθικής και περιβάλλοντος που συνδέονται με τη χορτοφαγία.
