Κριτική στον πρωθυπουργό για το ότι δε βρέθηκε από την πρώτη στιγμή στα μέτωπα των πυρκαγιών άσκησε ο βουλευτής Β’ Θεσσαλονίκης της ΝΔ Σάββας Αναστασιάδης μιλώντας στον 102 fm της ΕΡΤ3 και την Ασπασία Βούζη. Παράλληλα, επεσήμανε την ανάγκη στελέχωσης των υπηρεσιών αιχμής.
 
Με αφορμή την επίσκεψή του στη Χειμάρρα, με την ιδιότητα του αναπληρωτή τομεάρχη εξωτερικών της ΝΔ για θέματα απόδημου ελληνισμού, υπογράμμισε ότι το ελληνικό κράτος οφείλει να συμπαρασταθεί στους Έλληνες της περιοχής και να λύσει τις διαφορές με τη γειτονική χώρα στα πλαίσια της διπλωματίας και όχι με οξείς τόνους.
