Την επισήμανση ότι δεν είναι ώρα για “αντιπολίτευση πάνω στα αποκαΐδια” έκανε ο γραμματέας κοινοβουλευτικού έργου του Ποταμιού, βουλευτής Αττικής Γιώργος Μαυρωτάς μιλώντας στον 102 fm της ΕΡΤ3 και την Ασπασία Βούζη με αφορμή τις πυρκαγιές σε Κάλαμο και Ζάκυνθο. Ωστόσο, υποστήριξε ότι υπήρξαν θέματα συντονισμού, καθώς και έγκαιρης πρόληψης και αντίδρασης.
 
Ερωτηθείς για τις εκτιμήσεις παραγόντων του κρατικού μηχανισμού περί σχεδίου εμπρησμών, σε όλη τη χώρα, ενόψει του τριημέρου, ανέφερε πως «αν υπάρχει οργανωμένο σχέδιο θα πρέπει μια συντεταγμένη πολιτεία να το αντιμετωπίσει».
